Department of Sociology in the 2nd International Conference of Social Sciences on “Contemporary World: Challenges and Transformations

The Department of Sociology in the 2nd International Conference of Social Sciences on “Contemporary World: Challenges and Transformations” focused on the key challenges and issues in contemporary world such as Gender and Education, Women Empowerment, Eradication of all forms of inequalities, Gender and Health, Objectification of Women, Gender and Culture, Gender Discrimination in Workplace and Gender and Violence. The aforementioned themes were covered in three sessions in 26 presentations. Each session was chaired by the session chair and co-chair. The Keynote Speakers Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, Director School of Sociology Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, Prof. Tim Allender, School of Education and Social Work, University of Sydney, Australia and Dr. Taeko Professor of Education Waseda University highlighted the key challenges and issues of the contemporary world and their impacts on society.

They also shared suggestions in the light of their research findings. Sociologists, social scientists, researchers and scholars across the country shared their research works on the issues of the contemporary world with the students and other academicians. Dr. Raza Ullah Head of the Department of Sociology, Rawalpindi Women University concluded the sessions and extended vote of thanks to all the esteemed keynote speakers, session chairs, co-chairs, presenters and participants.
