Two-days International Symposium on Innovations in Chemical Synthesis on 21st and 22nd Feb 2024 at Rawalpindi Women University

Chemistry department, Rawalpindi Women University arranged two-day International Symposium on Innovations in Chemical Synthesis on 21st and 22nd Feb 2024. Our esteemed Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal welcomed the guests and resource persons. In her welcome note she appreciated all the participants and her presence graced the event. The inaugural day of the International Symposium on Innovations in Chemical Synthesis saw an enlightening presentation by Prof. Dr. Yong Rok Lee, Chunma Distinguished Professor from Yeungnam University, at the Department of Chemistry, Rawalpindi Women University. Dr. Lee delivered a comprehensive talk focusing on chemical synthesis in organic chemistry, captivating the audience with his expertise and insights. Additionally, esteemed researchers like Dr. Ghulam Ali (Associate Professor, US-Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies in Energy, Nust, Islamabad), Dr. Arshad Farhan (Principal Scientist, Physics Division, PINSTECH, Islamabad), and Dr. Javeed Mehmood (Asoociate Professor, KAUST University) shared their latest research findings, contributing to the symposium’s academic richness. The active participation of students further enriched the discussions, reflecting their eagerness to engage with contemporary developments in the field. The first day set a promising tone for the symposium, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among participants. Our Chief guest VC Rawalpindi Women University, Prof. Dr Anila Kamal distributed the shields among the resource persons.

Prof. Dr. Yong Rok Lee engaged in a dynamic panel discussion with students at the Department of Chemistry, Rawalpindi Women University on the second day of international symposium on innovations in chemical synthesis. Addressing queries on scholarships and collaborations, he provided valuable insights. His interaction spurred enthusiasm among students to pursue academic excellence and explore international opportunities. Additionally, he met with ORIC and QEC members to discuss research collaborations and funding opportunities from different agencies. Dr. Yong Rok Lee’s visit included tours of various labs and departments, highlighting ongoing research endeavors. Overall, his visit fostered a spirit of academic collaboration and innovation within the university community, leaving a lasting impact on students and faculty alike.
