Dr. YAMIN BIBI - Rawalpindi Women University

Biography:

Dr. Yamin Bibi has completed her PhD from Pakistan’s leading university “Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad” under Award of IRSIP for six months research in UK. Moving from an Assistant Professor position at PMAS-AAU Rawalpindi to becoming an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany at Rawalpindi Women University reflects a significant progression in her career. This transition likely indicates her dedication to teaching and research in the field of botany. She has supervised 11 PhD and 30 MPhil Students. She has completed 2 fully funded Research Projects.

Her major field of interest are Plant Based Natural Products, Biological activities evaluation, Active components Isolation & Chemical Characterization. She has published numerous research articles and reviews in this field, in national and international reputed journals. She is also a Reviewer in national and international journals. She has presented her work in different national and international conferences i.e. Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Prague (Europe).

She was an invited guest in 1st International Conference Revamped Scientific outlook of 21st Century Rawalpindi Women University 6th Road Satellite Town, Rawalpindi. Her expertise in botany, combined with her teaching and research experience, can have a positive impact on the development of both students and the academic programs.

Brief Statement of Research Interest:

Ultimately, her research endeavors seek to uncover novel bioactive compounds from plants, understanding their potential applications in medicine, agriculture, or other relevant fields. By bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific methodologies, she aims to contribute to the sustainable and effective utilization of plant-based resources for the benefit of human health and well-being.

Her research interest lies in the field of plant-based natural products, with a focus on evaluating their biological activities. She is particularly interested in the isolation and chemical characterization of active components from these natural sources. By exploring the diverse array of compounds present in plants, she aim to contribute to the understanding of their therapeutic potential and mechanisms of action.
Ultimately, her research endeavors seek to uncover novel bioactive compounds from plants, understanding their potential applications in medicine, agriculture, or other relevant fields. By bridging the gap between traditional knowledge and modern scientific methodologies, she aims to contribute to the sustainable and effective utilization of plant-based resources for the benefit of human health and well-being.
