Biography:
Dr Shazia Shamas joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology, Rawalpindi Women University on August 19 2022. She is also serving as a Coordinator of the Department of Zoology. Before joining RWU, she had served as an Assistant Professor in University of Gujrat and Swabi Women University for almost 7 years. During that period, she has served additional administrative duties (focal person QEC, SAR and IPE, member of paper vetting committee) During her professional career she won NRPU project in 2018 as Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in addition to PI of one SRGP project awarded by the HEC-Pakistan. She was awarded with the Financial Reward against Publications in 2019, 2020 from UOG. She is HEC Approved PhD Supervisor and has published more than thirty research papers. She has supervised nine MPhil/MSc/BS students. She attended various workshops/trainings in addition to international conferences as participants/ oral presenter. She earned PhD degree in Zoology from Quaid-I-Azam University Islamabad. In her educational career, she was awarded “Indigenous Scholarship for PhD” Batch- V from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in 2007. She received merit scholarships during her MSc and remained throughout first class in her educational career. She believes in hard work, dedication, and professional commitment to excel in the field of research and teaching besides exhibiting ethics/ moral values well reflective of our culture and religion.
Brief statement of Research Interest:
Research interests lie in the field of Physiology, Reproductive Neuroendocrinology, Biochemistry, and molecular Biology.
