Dr. Banzeer Ahsan Abbasi

Biography:

Dr. Banzeer Ahsan Abbasi, a native of Islamabad (Pakistan), is a botanist by profession working as an Assistant Professor in the Rawalpindi Women University, 6th road, Satellite Town Rawalpindi, Punjab, which is one of the reputable university of Punjab Province. Besides her major responsibilities in university, Dr. Abbasi, is departmental coordinator of QEC. Her major research interest is phytochemistry, green nanotechnology and phylogenetic. She has more than five years of research and teaching experience in the field of Botany. She added valuable contribution to the pharmaceutical industry and biomedicine. Specifically, she is driven to investigate the areas of: Phytochemistry of medicinal plants, metal oxide nanoparticles, functional nanocomposites, tuning and retention of unique nanoparticle physical properties in composites and their multiple biological applications. Her research experiences include strong background in phylogenetics, phytochemistry and green synthesis of nanoparticles using different medicinal plants. She has published more than 40 review and research articles in high rated journals on phytochemistry, green nanotechnology and phylogenetics. She has developed novel and cost effective method to synthesize stable metal oxide nanoparticles for different biomedical applications. She has published more than 150 impact factor articles (h-index: 23 & i10 index: 29) and 2 book chapters. Dr. Abbasi has been contributing in various ways for strengthening the scientific landscape in the region.

Brief statement of Research Interest:

My primary research interest is in the area of Nanobiotechnology, Phytochemistry, Molecular markers, Tissue culture, Bioinformatics; applications. My research helps to provide the synthesis of phyto-nanoparticles for biomedicine, novel compounds identification from plants; biological applications and phylogenetic analysis using chloroplast genes. My research group contributes to phytochemistry and evaluation of invitro and invivo biological applications of green crude extracts and greenly fabricated nanoparticles and genetic characterization of different plants families using chloroplast genome. Focused areas include phyto-nanotechnology, phytochemistry; applications.
