Introduction of the Office​

The Office of the Registrar is the head of the administrative office and custodian of the common seal of the university. The University is committed to its vision of providing academic excellence through innovative quality education for its students to empower our graduates with lifelong learning skills for building a brighter future for the country and society at large. The Office of the Registrar assist in the functioning and formulation of the statutory bodies for their effective and efficient governance of the University. The office interpret and implement the rules, regulations and statutes of the University, as well as other policy guidelines. The Office ensures enforcement and implementation of the University’s academic and administrative rules, regulations and procedures. Besides, the office is also responsible for functioning of the University with best quality human resources, facilities, sustainable practices, ensuring opportunities for growth and maintaining academic standards at the University. The Office operates on the principles of openness, and constructive engagement collaborating with faculty and staff of the University and facilitating the students in the process of continuous improvement for the university.

The major responsibility of the Registrar’s Office is to assist in the convening of the statutory body meetings for the smooth running of the University. Below are the statutory bodies of RWU under registrar office:

      3. Academic Council
      4. Selection Board
      5. Selection Committee
      6. Scrutiny committee

Establishment Section:

The Establishment section is the key office that regulates the activity of the University under its act and statues while maintaining liaison with all statutory bodies and below are the list of functions of this section:

  • Official correspondence with all the Government, semi-government or private institutions/organizations with reference to the University’s activities and matters.
  • Organize the University’s statutory bodies meetings and responsible for implementation of the directives of the statutory bodies.
  • Act as a liaison between University’s internal and external departments, offices, ministries and regulating bodies.

Human Resource:

The human resource section deals with the intellectual capital of the university and manages the inflow of all HR related requirements through the following functions:

  • Recruitment of Human Resources for the university’s teaching and non-teaching departments through advertisement, testing and interview processes.
  • Personnel Management of all appointed employees of the University, performance appraisal, service matters, leave and all related matters.
  • Adhering to all Employees’ matters for the purpose of benefits, payroll, training and development.

Academics:

The Academics section is pivotal in fostering a dynamic learning environment, advancing knowledge through research, and preparing students for successful careers and lifelong learning. The section is responsible for:

  • Processing admissions & registration
  • Launching new programs after approval from relevant bodies.
  • Students’ Record Maintenance
  • Student’s academic facilitation,
  • Dealing with students’ migration, semester freeze and other related issues
  • Designing Curriculum in consultation with the academic departments

Administration and Coordination:

The administration and coordination section plays a critical role in managing the university’s operations, resources, and support services to ensure the smooth functioning of academic and non-academic activities. The section is responsible for:

  • Handling of duties of support staff related to class 4 employees
  • Facilitation to university guests
  • Supervision of diary dispatch
  • Employees’ contact list maintenance
  • Coordinate with external administrative departments

Legal section:

The legal section plays a crucial role in safeguarding the university’s legal interests, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, managing legal risks, and providing strategic guidance to support the institution’s mission and operations. The section is responsible for dealing with:

  • High Court, District court cases
  • Ombudsman cases
  • Governor’s Secretariat cases/hearings
  • Contracts/MoUs formation/vetting
  • Provision of support in any legal issue

Security Office:

The security office of university plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of the campus community, which includes students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The office is responsible for ensuring the security of:

  • Students, staff, and faculty at campus
  • Entry related requirements for delegations & distinguished guests
  • Protection of University assets
  • Supervising security related requirement of events, seminars, and all other functions held at the university.
