 Rawalpindi Women University has a rich history dating back to 1951, when it was established as a degree college with a mission to provide quality education to women. In recognition of its commitment to academic excellence the college was upgraded to a postgraduate institution by the government in 1983. In 2010, this institution was selected amongst 26 best colleges in Punjab to launch a program of BS Honors. It was chosen as sub-campus of the University of Gujrat in 2014. Further cementing its position as a top-tier institution, the university has always been at the forefront for promoting women's education and has played a pivotal role in nurturing students' holistic development by fostering extracurricular activities and sports alongside for education. In recognition of its outstanding contributions to the field of education, the institution was officially inaugurated as Rawalpindi Women University on April 12, 2019. Since then, the university has continued to provide high-quality education to its students and has grown in capacity and scope, positioning itself as a leading higher education institution in the region.
